Jason Derulo is an American singer and songwriter, possibly best known for his hit songs “Savage Love” and “Swalla”. Jason Joel Desrouleaux was born on 21 September 1989, in Miramar, Florida USA, to Haitian parents; he’s of African-Caribbean ethnicity, and holds American nationality.
Jason discovered his love for music early in life, and wrote his first song at age eight. He attended a Performing Arts school in Florida, however, he achieved fame when he was a teenager, as he wrote songs for various celebrity artists such as Lil Wayne, Diddy, and Sean Kingston among others; at this time, he stylized his professional/stage name as Jason Derulo.
He dreamt of becoming a solo performer, until he was discovered by the music producer, J. R. Rotem, who signed Derulo to Beluga Heights Records and Warner Bros Records.
