Payment Options

ePay: Online or Phone

Tax payments can now be made online or by phone by electronic check, debit card or credit card.

The following Service fees apply to ePay payments:

Electronic Check - $2.00 per transaction
Visa Debit Cards - $4.00 per transaction
Other Debit Cards and Credit Cards – 2.4% of the payment amount, with a minimum service fee of $2.00

How to Pay Your Property Taxes (3)Phone Payment – To make a payment by phone, please call 1(877) 690-3729. When prompted, enter jurisdiction code 2404. You will need to have your Parcel ID number to make a payment. The bill number is located on your payment stubs.

The Auditor-Treasurer’s office CANNOT take tax payments over the phone. You must use the approved third party payment processor by calling the number listed above.

How to Pay Your Property Taxes (4)Online Payment - Visit our eNoticesOnline Payment Center. You will need to have your Parcel ID # to make a payment. The Parcel ID # is located on your tax statement in the upper left corner under the Brown County logo, or on payment stubs.

To make an online payment, type your parcel number, including the R, P, or M; followed by the numeric code including the dots, in the search box and then click Search. For example: R000.000.000.00.000 or M00.0000.00000 or P00.00000

By Drop Box

The Courthouse drop box is are located in the Law Enforcement Center Parking Lot located at 15 North Washington Street, New Ulm, or you may utilize the drop box at in the parking lot of the License Bureauat 1900 North Franklin Street, New Ulm. Do not use CASH when making your payment.

Your payment must be postmarked on or before the due date to avoid penalty. If your tax payment is past due, please contact the Auditor-Treasurer Office at (507) 233-6613 for actual payment amount.

Direct Payment Plan

With this convenient, hassle-free program, your property tax payment is automatically deducted from your checking or savings account. We offer quarterly, semi-annual or annual payment plans.

To enroll, send a completed Direct Pay Authorization Form to the Auditor-Treasurer Office at PO Box 115, New Ulm, MN 56073-0115.

If the due date falls on the weekend, your payment will be processed the next business day. Payment reminders will be sent by email 10 days prior to the debit. Authorization will remain in effect until you inform the Auditor-Treasurer Office that you wish to cancel. It is your responsibility to notify the Auditor-Treasurer office at (507) 233-6699 if you switch bank accounts or wish to add or delete parcels.

Escrowed

Your taxes may be included in your mortgage payment. If your statement indicates that you are escrowed, your tax amount has been forwarded to the escrow agent for collection. Please keep a copy of the tax statement for your reference. For more information, please contact your financial institution.
