2024-25 School Year Student Attendance
We are asking ALL families to please take a moment and complete the form located by clicking the link below to let us know about your intent so we can best plan for the upcoming school year to ensure class sizes are equitable. You will need to complete the form for each student attending WFMS. If you have previously completed the form the last time we sent it out, you do not need to complete it again.
24-25 Student Intent to Return Form
If your student will no longer be attending Wake Forest Middle School this year for any reason (relocation, transfer, choice options) please contact Mr. Jamal Fleet (jfleet@wcpss.net) with the appropriate information. If you have moved, your address will need to be updated in the system to ensure your student begins the 24-25 school year at the correct school in WCPSS (Wake County).
Student schedules
PowerSchool may be accessible for families and students at this time. Please note that any schedules in Powerschool are currently incomplete. Changes are still occurring to balance classes and minimize the need for adjustments when school begins. Schedules are not considered to be final until an email is shared with families confirming completion in early-August just before our Open House. Students and families should disregard anything currently seen in Parent Portal or PowerSchool at this time. Please do not email or call the school at this time regarding schedule changes.
Open House
Our Open House will be held on Friday, August 23rd. This event will be free-flowing at specific times during the day for families to come and get schedules, tour the school, meet our PTSA, discuss transportation, and any other needs to help students have a successful start to the school year. Times are allotted based on a student’s last name to accommodate parking since we are limited on our campus. We kindly ask that you plan accordingly. This event is not required and students and families will be able to access schedules through PowerSchool and will be guided on the first day of school to receive a copy of their schedule, if they are unable to attend.
Students with last name A - M: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Students with last name: N - Z: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
A more formal “Meet the Teacher” night will be held shortly after school begins on Thursday, September 19th from 5:00pm - 6:30pm. Information regarding this event will be shared once school begins.
School Supplies
The general WFMS school supply list can be accessed HERE. This list covers the basic school supply needs of your student for the upcoming school year. Teachers may request additional supplies at the start of the year for their individual class.
Transportation for the 24-25 school year
View your student’s 2024-25 Transportation status via your student’s Homebase/Powerschool account. Sign up for an account at your student’s school. More information on Home Base is available at www.wcpss.net/student-information.
Your student’s AM and/or PM transportation codes will display “Y” (yes) or “N” (no) for the 2024-25 school year until routes are posted. Routes usually are posted about 10 days before the start of the school year.
If your student’s code is “Y” and your student will be using transportation next school year, no action is required.
If your student’s code is “N” and you would like for your student to use transportation next school year, please submit a transportation request.
If your student’s code is “Y” and your student will not be using transportation next school year, please submit the decline bus form at www.wcpss.net/declinebus.

Registration & Deadline
To register, go to www.wcpss.net/busrider, please only request service if you plan for your student to be a regular rider. Students who don’t ride consistently will be removed from bus rosters. Deadline to apply for transportation to ensure service on the first day of school is July 15th.
PTSA
WFMS PTSA membership is open for the 2024-25 school year! You can join by CLICKING HERE! We encourage all our families to sign-up and be a part of the PTSA. PTSA will be at our upcoming family events to meet with you and share all the ways you can be involved.
7th Grade Immunizations
North Carolina law requires that all rising 7th graders must present proof of receiving the Tdap and meningococcal immunizations before late-September 2024 Any student non-compliant after the due date will be excluded from school and not allowed to attend until proof of compliance has been submitted.
WFMS must have a copy of your physician's record of these vaccines. Please contact your physician for more information regarding these immunization requirements.

Athletics
More specific information regarding athletics will be shared later in the summer. There are no summer workouts held and try-outs for fall sports will not be held until school begins in August.
All students wishing to try out must have an up-to-date physical within the past calendar year. Information regarding physicals must be completed by a physician on the WCPSS Middle School Participation Forms located HERE. Eligibility requirements for attendance and grades are set by the school district and can be found HERE. Students not meeting these eligibility requirements from the prior semester/school year will not be able to participate or try-out.
