Discovered this hidden gem by accident.. friendly and very helpful staff! Plants are all well looked after, and the layout was very organised. Had lunch in the restaurant, which was great value for money and very tasty! Service was 1st class! Will definitely be back
We go mostly for the food when we're down that neck of the woods. Saying that, the garden furniture and some of the other "stuff" look really good but I'm no expert so I've no idea if it's expensive or not. Remember though, you get what you pay for!For the food I usually get fish and chips which I love. This time... Cumberland sausages in a giant Yorkshire pudding... possibly my new favourite!I'll take a picture next time, that seems to be what you're supposed to do.And aye..... there will be a next time 😊
Really lovely tea and chocolate shortbread served by a friendly team. Could however do with advertising correct cafe times at front of shop, as closes an hour earlier than stated. Thanks!Garden centre itself well stocked with plants and gifts. Got what we were looking for in terms of both and will return.

We gathered reviews from Google and Tripadvisor, and summarized helpful tips as well as commonly mentioned things others might find useful.
- Visit early around 9:30 am to avoid crowds as it can get busy later in the day
- Check correct cafe times before visiting as closing hours may vary from what's advertised
- If ordering gluten-free items at the cafe, be aware of potential premium pricing compared to regular items offered
- Despite occasional service delays or mix-ups in orders reported by visitors in reviews; politely addressing concerns to staff can lead to resolutions
Reviews
Merryhatton Garden Centre is praised for its delicious food offerings, particularly the fish and chips and Cumberland sausages in a giant Yorkshire pudding. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff, well-stocked plant nursery, organized layout, and great value for money at the restaurant. The cafe receives mixed reviews with some mentioning slow service but others enjoying generous portions like brie and cranberry panini or mushroom soup. Despite some hiccups in service efficiency and pricing discrepancies for gluten-free items, Merryhatton Garden Centre remains a charming spot worth revisiting.

Stopped off at the cafe in the Merryhatton Garden Centre during a chilly cycle ride in January. The sandwich portions were very generous and helped propel us home. 😀Table service was good and the staff were all pleasant.
Good breakfast at the cafe, dog friendly, welcoming staff and well stocked plant nursery.
