Fans have been left stunned by the meta moment between Jennifer Aniston and Rachel Zegler at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.
Several stars were in attendance at the 49th award ceremony on Sunday (February 18) to celebrate the best in film, music, television, and pop culture.
One notable star at the Barker Hangar was Zegler, 22, who was awarded Action Movie Star of the Year for her stellar role as Lucy Gray Baird in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
The 55-year-old Friends star was also in attendance to present the Icon Award to her close friend and co-star, Adam Sandler, before taking the TV Drama Star award for her role as Alex Levy on The Morning Show.

During the ceremony - which was hosted by Marvel star Simu Liu - Zegler and Aniston were seated side-by-side at the same table - and this excited many viewers.
The reason is because the West Side Story actress revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she was literally named after Aniston's beloved character Rachel Green from the classic 90s sitcom.
When directly asked about the rumor by Fallon, Zegler confirmed it, saying: "I was named after Rachel Green from Friends. That is real. That is a real fact, and nobody ever believes me because they think that there’s no way that I’m young enough to be named after [a character from Friends], but I am!"
The young star explained that her mother simply "loved the way [the name] sounded on Friends for Jennifer Aniston" and even quipped that, if "Rachel" hadn’t panned out, she "could’ve been named 'Ross,' who knows!"

Of course, the heartwarming moment between the two stars at the award show delighted many fans who took to social media to share their reactions.
"Rachel Zegler sitting next to Jennifer Aniston is so iconic because Rachel was named after Jennifer Aniston’s character on Friends, Rachel Green," one user on X (formerly Twitter) gushed, while another said: "Rachel Zegler sitting next to her namesake, Jennifer Aniston, is absolute magic,"
A third person expressed: "She must be so happy to meet her!" while a fourth added: "This is probably the biggest 'full circle moment' I’ve ever seen."
"Rachel Zegler sitting next to Jennifer Aniston, whose Friends character she was named for, rocking out to Lenny Kravitz aka Cinna is some intense 6 degrees of separation (a movie starring Donald Sutherland)," one more person shared.
